Unilateral Visa-free Policy
China has implemented unilateral visa exemption with below 37 countries. Individuals holding ordinary passports from these countries who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, or transit for no more than 30 days are eligible for visa free entry. This policy will be valid until December 31, 2025.
The countries that implement unilateral visa exemption with China are:
Asia: Japan, South Korea, Malaysia
Europe: Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Poland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg
Oceania: Australia, New Zealand
Visa-Free Transit Extends to 240 Hours (10 Days)
China’s visa-free transit policy will be fully relaxed and optimized. The stay duration for foreign nationals eligible for visa-free transit has been extended from the previous 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days). In total, 60 ports in China of entry and exit have been opened for visa-free transit travelers. Xiamen is one of the ports that welcomes visa-free transit individuals. View the full list.
Kindly note: A connecting ticket with the confirmed departure date and seat number leaving for a third country or region within 240 hours is required.
Mutual Visa Exemption
China has implemented mutual visa exemption with 25 countries and regions. They are Brunei, Thailand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia, Serbia, Albania, Armenia, Maldives, San Marino, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bahamas, Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Suriname, Seychelles, Mauritius, Fiji, Tonga, and Solomon Island.
