On March 17th, concurrently with the 26th Xiamen International Stone Fair, the “15th Five-Year Plan” High-Quality Development Forum for the Stone Industry, hosted by the China Stone Material Association, was held in the forum area of Hall A6. Simultaneously, the association’s meticulously planned “Stone Lecture Hall” series of academic sharing sessions also commenced. The two events brought together officials from relevant government departments, authoritative industry experts, leaders of key enterprises, and industry colleagues from home and abroad to comprehensively review the achievements of the stone industry during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, deeply analyze the opportunities and challenges of industrial development under the new circumstances, systematically plan the path for high-quality development during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, build industry consensus, and pool development efforts, laying a solid ideological foundation and injecting practical impetus for the transformation, upgrading, and steady development of my country’s stone industry.
15th Five-Year Plan High-Quality Development Forum: Overcoming Pressure and Seeking Breakthroughs, Anchoring the Direction for a New Chapter
This forum on high-quality development for the stone industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period focused on the core theme of industry transformation and upgrading, centering on the main theme of high-quality development. It comprehensively reviewed the industry’s development trajectory, analyzed existing pain points, and clarified strategic paths, making it a crucial industry event for building on past achievements and planning for the future. The forum featured multiple core topics, covering key content such as a review of the industry’s 14th Five-Year Plan and a look ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan, the 2025 industry development report, import and export market analysis, strategies for industry expansion overseas, and upgrades in the home decoration sector. It provided both a precise assessment of the industry’s current situation and pragmatic plans for future development, clarifying the industry’s thinking and pointing the way forward. The event was moderated by Tao Lulu, Publicity Director of the China Stone Association.
Sun Weixing, Secretary General of the China Stone Association, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Overcoming Pressure and Seeking Breakthroughs,” providing an in-depth interpretation of the 2025 China Stone Industry Development Report. Based on the domestic and international macroeconomic landscape and national industrial policy guidance, and combined with the current development reality of the industry, he systematically reviewed the current state of the industry and accurately analyzed development trends from multiple dimensions, including economic operation, industrial layout optimization, changes in import and export trade, and development challenges and opportunities. He proposed targeted development suggestions such as improving quality and efficiency, optimizing structure, and innovating models. This not only directly addressed the industry’s pain points and shortcomings but also strengthened the industry’s confidence and determination to overcome difficulties and achieve transformation during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, providing important reference for the next stage of work.
Su Guijun, Director of the Stone Industry Research Institute of the China Building Materials Industry Planning and Research Institute, gave a special interpretation of the stone industry’s “15th Five-Year Plan” development plan. He comprehensively reviewed the changes in the industry’s development environment, phased achievements, and outstanding problems during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Combining national macro-strategies and industrial policy requirements, he clarified the overall positioning, core objectives, key tasks, and safeguard measures for the stone industry’s development during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, forming a systematic and implementable implementation plan. This provided the industry with an action plan for high-quality development and promoted the stone industry’s accelerated transformation towards green, high-end, intensive, and international development.
He Jiaoyang, Deputy Director of the Industry Department of the China Stone Material Association, released the 2025 Stone Import and Export Market Analysis Report. Based on detailed industry statistics, the report deeply analyzes the changing trends in total import and export volume, trade structure, partners, and product categories. It objectively assesses the new situation and challenges in international trade and proposes practical countermeasures such as optimizing trade structure, increasing product added value, and strengthening risk control. These measures aim to help the industry seize opportunities, mitigate risks, and accelerate its transformation from a major stone trading nation to a leading industrial power.
Qiu Biaolun, Chairman of Xiamen Hongpengfa Group, delivered a speech entitled “Compliance as the Sail: Steady Progress and Long-Term Success.” Combining case studies of his company’s overseas expansion, he analyzed the compliance risks and solutions for the international development of the stone industry. He emphasized that compliant operation is the bottom line guarantee for the industry’s overseas expansion and a core support for upgrading the industry’s value chain. He called on the entire industry to establish a compliance mindset, improve the compliance system, and cultivate overseas markets through standardized operations to achieve steady development and long-term sustainability.
Zhang Yueqian, founder of Chengdu Pengji Stone Co., Ltd., focused on the stone home decoration sector. Combining the “15th Five-Year Plan” policy guidance and consumption upgrade trends, he analyzed the industry’s pain points and transformation directions, proposing practical paths such as shifting from product sales to value services, strengthening brand building, and improving terminal service capabilities. This provided feasible ideas for improving quality and upgrading the stone home decoration industry and expanding market space.
Stone Lecture Series: Cross-Industry Empowerment Strengthens the Foundation, Standardized Technology Builds Advantages
As a core supporting academic activity of the Xiamen International Stone Fair, the “Stone Lecture Series,” hosted by the China Stone Association, was held concurrently. It invited cross-industry leaders, technical experts, and industry scholars to share their insights on topics such as architectural design, landscape applications, overseas projects, mining regulations, professional standards, and intelligent equipment. This achieved a deep integration of design aesthetics, technical standards, and industrial practice, further broadening the industry’s development horizons.
Loss of Weight – II – Bu Xiaojun, partner and principal architect of Shijing Architecture, shared cutting-edge architectural design concepts, exploring the innovative integration of stone and architectural space, endowing stone architecture with more artistic connotations and spatial value.
Innovative Practices in Shaping the Spirit of a Place with Landscape Stone – Ding Yiju, Chief Representative in China of the German firm Valentin + Valentin Urban Planning and Landscape Design, interprets the applied aesthetics and scene creation of landscape stone, helping to broaden the application boundaries of stone in the landscape field.
The Overseas Path of Chinese Curtain Walls – Luo Yongzeng, Chief Engineer of Asdon Technology, shares practical experience in overseas stone curtain wall projects, solving the challenges of overseas project implementation and promoting Chinese stone curtain wall technology globally.
Standards Leading, Technology Dominating: Comprehensively Regulating Mine Construction and Extraction – Lin Yuhua, Member of the Expert Committee of the China Stone Association, provides an in-depth interpretation of the “Technical Specifications for Open-Pit Mines of Decorative Stone,” emphasizing the guiding role of standards in green mining and standardized operation, and solidifying the bottom line for the industry’s green development.
Introduction to the “Stone Production Worker” Standard – Liao Yuanshi, Member of the Expert Committee of the China Stone Association, explains the occupational standards for stone production workers, promoting the standardization and professionalization of the industry’s talent pool.
The Development of Stone Equipment Technology and the Construction of a Standard System in the AI Era—Zhang Jinsheng, Director and Doctoral Supervisor of the Building Materials and Construction Machinery Research Center at Shandong University, focused on the integration trend of artificial intelligence and stone equipment, exploring the upgrading path of intelligent equipment and the construction of a standard system to help the industry’s digital and intelligent transformation.
